Day 2 pictures!

Here's loads of pictures from day 2!

Part of my Covent Carden Haul!

Day 2

Today was a very interesting day....still not over yet.
Starting off. We took the Underground to British National Museum. It's pretty amazing.  From the art work to the artifacts,  there was nonstop communication.
We spent a lot of time at the Parthenon Sculptures.  I personally think that they are better staying in London. Yes,  there is a lot of tension and difference in opinion. ..especially considering that many believe them to be taken without consent.
Greece was experiencing a bad time and having the statues removed may have actually helped to preserve them.

Around 2pm we went to Russell Square and learned about the history.

WE ended our journey at Covent Gardens.
Somehow....(leave it to me) I lost track of the group after we all dispersed into smaller groups.
I tried to look for the 4 other girls but that place is a madhouse.
I got to the point where I thought
"You can either panic and try to go straight to the hotel without experiencing  Covent Gardens"

OR
SHOP AND LOOK. EXPERIENCE WHAT A REAL LONDONER WORLD. Figure out how to get home later.
I chose the latter.
It ended up being amazing.  I'll post my haul later.

After shopping and tasting the best ice cream I ever have, I started for a Tube home.
Had a bit of difficulty finding the right station but I did. Took Picadilly to Lesington...fail. then took Picadilly to Kings Cross...looked for Platform 9 and 3/4 ....fail again.
Then took a Picadilly to Earls court. Now safe and back home at the hotel.

I've come to the conclusion that I must blend in with a typical Londoner.
1 a man a the shops said I did. And that I had a cool Camden style

2 there were English people that asked me for Directions. ....yea I'm cool.

Well that's all for now. #lovethis #imsolondon #didntgetpicpocketed #shhhhdontjinxit

Watching the change of the guards today was awesome.  A bit busy and confusing, but still lovely.

We got that Bass bangin...from here to Buckingham Palace

Great first day. Saw so so much! Super super tired.  Been up since 7 am U.S. time on Thursday and now it's Friday and 12pm US time.

Greetings!

Hello and welcome to my travel blog!
Here you will be able to follow me through my journey abroad. I plan to post a VOD (video of the day) as often as possible!

I am traveling to London and Paris through a school Study Abroad program.

I will be overseas for about 2 weeks! I've been brushing up on my french and working hard to understand where I'll be going once we reach out destination!

As part of our Study Abroad class requirements, we have to answer the following questions, prior to our departure.

What made you decide to study abroad?
I I have ALWAYS been fascinated with travel. I've never been one to stay in the same place. I have a deep desire to learn about other cultures and other environments. I feel that with a world so large and a life so short, why spend it looking at the same surroundings?

How do you expect to be changed by your experience?
I This experience will change me in many ways. This trip will give me an experience that not many individuals share. I will be immersed in a new culture and new surroundings. I will understand what it feels like to be "the minority" and have difficulty understanding people and being confused about the currency.
This trip will give me a sense of independence. While we are in a group, I still feel that I will gain an independence simply from doing a large scale travel without my family.

What are your goals while you are abroad?
My goals aboard are to simply learn as much as possible and be open to change. I want to absorb everything that the cultures have to offer. I want to learn historical facts about the two cities.I want to learn how to navigate through a new city. I want to get lost with friends and use my best abilities to find my way home.

How do you expect to achieve these goals?
These goals can be achieved easily. Simply being open to change, culture, and realizing my own limitations will open so many doors of opportunity, leading to new life-changing adventures.

What fears or apprehensions do you have?

I don't think that I'm truly apprehensive of anything during this trip, short of being TRULY lost without a passport (but let's be positive).
To be completely honest. The most fear that I have for this trip is visiting Trafalgar Square.....(I'm terrified of pigeons).
I literally would cross the street, rather than cross paths with one of those rats with wings. But as long as no one pours birdseed in my bag then i think i should be fine.
Otherwise....I'd be like this

What are you most looking forward to?

Overall, I'm looking forward to everything....(accept the pigeons).
I think the monuments that I'm most excited for are

 Stonehenge
Eiffel Tower
The Louvre (I can't wait to see The Mona Lisa, Winged Victory of Samothrace and Venus de Milo)
Leonardo di ser Piero DA VINCI, dit Léonard de VINCI (Vinci, 1452 - Amboise, 1519)

The Winged Victory of SamothraceAphrodite, known as the "Venus de Milo"

Thanks so much for reading my 1st blog post. More to come! Have a great day!
